βšͺ️#107 (Strategy-White to Move)

πŸ”ΈThe Netherlands, 1938
πŸ“˜ The black knight clearly aims for the c5-square, where it can put pressure on his opponent's position. Botvinnik doesn't tolerate an uninvited guest for an extended stay on c5 and with 15.a3! prepares to get ride of it with b4.
13.Na4?! Bxb2 14.Nxb2 Nc5 and now if 15.a3? Re8 white has no time to play b4.
13.h4? Due to lack of coordination between his pieces, White cannot hope to achieve any goal on the kingside.

πŸ“˜ 15.c5! White wants to open up the position to exploit Black's lack of development. 15...dxc5? Black helps him! 16.Bb5+ Nd7 17.Nf5 Qf6 18.Rad1+-.
Black, of course, replies with 15...Nd7! (Preventing c5) against Both 15.Bd3? and 15.e4.

πŸ“• a4!
Fischer's new move, which prevents 11..Bb5 exchanging the bad bishop on d7 with the very good one on d3. In the game between Maroczy-Capablanca, 1926, white played 11.0-0 and after 11...Bb5, the Ψgame was equal but eventually, Capablanca won. 11.Nbd2 also faces the same move.

πŸ“• In this position, white is behind in material but he has compensation in the sense that the black king is exposed and vulnerable. If black can exchange the queens, he wins easily. so Fischer has played 29...Qf5! (with the idea of 30...Qf2) and after 30.b4 axb4 31.Rxb4+ Kc7, White resigned.
29...Bh6? 30.b4! axb4 31.Rxb4+ Kc7 32.Re7+-.
29...Re8?! 30.Qd2! and White still has some chances.
