Chess grandmasters play football at Telstar FC
💙 | A rather remarkable football match will take place at Telstar FC on Wednesday 15 January. Chess grandmasters from the #TataSteelChess Tournament will walk onto the field to play a friendly match with players from Telstar FC.

This chess piece dated c. 1200 was found in 2018 in Tønsberg by the Norwegian Institute of Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU).

The abstract design is typical of arabic pieces, with geometric motifs in different parts. It's a Knight.

What does it take to have a good chess training camp? Two good trainers, 14 talented youngsters - should be all right? Well, if you thought that was true, you are missing an important point here. One of the most important things needed for a highly intensive training camp is the right environment. At the Microsense Kramnik Gelfand training program, great care has been taken that the right environment is provided to all the youngsters so that they can learn and improve. Kramnik and Gelfand are in Chennai for the 2nd training camp by Microsense. The two greats will train 14 of the most talented Indian players. On 7th of January was a press conference. Check out all that happened:
