The world champion blundered in a winning position against the 15-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov but the wild game was eventually drawn.
World rapid champion Humpy Koneru is on top of the blitz tournament too. After 6 rounds, she leads the women's section with 5,5 points.

Koneru won against Atalik, Guseva, Mammadova, Zhukova, Sargsyan and made a draw with Tan Zhongyi.
No easy games at the top as we move into the second half of today's 12 rounds of action!
