A beautiful tactic from Alexander Grischuk: 37...Bxe5!, with the point that 38.Qxd8 fails because of 38...Bf6+, followed by another check with the rook and the queen is lost.

Grischuk on his victory against Xu | FIDE World Cup 2019 | R3, G1 |
In the clash of two Russian grandmasters, Nikita Vitiugov broke through the defense of Sergey Karjakin.

If Vitiugov wins this match, he will at least repeat his best result at the World Cups so far, as he got to Round 4 in 2009.
Women's world champion Ju Wenjun is proving her class and title at #WomenGrandPrixFIDE in Skolkovo!

In round 6 she wins yet again, against Alina Kashlinskaya,
masterfully using the Russian's careless c2 pawn capture in the opening, and becomes the sole leader with 4,5/6.
Ju Wenjun's decision to choose the #WomenGrandPrixFIDE is currently looking a decent one. If she wins she earns more than a #FIDEWorldCup Round 3 loser:
Leningrad, June 1956. The Anichkov Bridge and the Anichkov Palace, which held the famous Pioneers' Palace at which the likes of Spassky, Korchnoi & Taimanov studied.

The cherished dream of every chessplayer is to play a match with the World Champion. But here is the paradox: the closer you come to the realization of this goal: the less you think about it.
