🔸GM Elshan Moradiabadi game analysis of the Bundsliga 2017
📗12...Rae8
A rare move. This move had a great come back to top level chess recently.
📗13.Bf4N
This move makes more sense compared to other two moves tried in this position.
📗25.Qxc2?
Incredible decision by Li Chao! Now it is only white who can play for a win.
📗It is true that black has rook and bishop combination but white's control of c-file and central pawns are more decisive factor.
📗31.Nd2 Karpov would have played g4 and Rb5 without so much thinking! 31.g4 Bc7 32.Rb5 b6 33.h4 Re8 34.e4 and white's advantage looks to grow rapidly.
📗33...f5? believe it or not, the rook ending is losing!
📗49.Rd7! Anand gets the winning position. His pawns are more advanced and ready to be promoted.
📗12...d4! Typical move, gaining space in the center and queenside.
📗Next is one of those sacrifices only computer can refute , if the can! 14.Nxe5!! The two exclamation mark are purely for the psychological essence !
