🔸World Chess Olympiad Batumi 2018
🔸Round 8
⚪️Caruana,Fabiano (2827)
⚫️Mamedyarov,Shakhriyar (2820)
🔸1-0
44.Qh4!
Caruana's goal is to transfer his rook to h4 via d4, but the immediate 44.Rd4 is simply met by 44...Re4 45.Rd8+ Re8 =.
So he first cleverly puts the c4 pawn under attack.
44...Re8
44...a5 45.Rd8+ Re8 46.Rxe8+ Qxe8 47.Qxc4+ +-
45.Rd4! Rc8 46.Qh6 Qe6 47.Rh4 +-
And Black is helpless.
