A creative move. White is intending to fight for the center by playing d4. Otherwise, Black can gradually put more pressure on the white's d-pawn.

Creates a surprising impression. Black's knight will pour into good squares, but the question remains - What will they achieve there? In a sense part of it is about timing and forcing the issue. Rather than maneuver and open a file at leisure, black is obliged to do it NOW, and although the f-file and the squares f4 and h4 look scary, the h-file counts too, as might the f5 square, a less visually 'in your face' outpost, but an outpost just the same. In the game, white holds the king-side and wins on the queenside. I feel that black needed at least to put a higher premium on disruption.

Emanuel Lasker

@UnityChess
In 1894, world champion (1894-1921) Emanuel Lasker (1867-1941) had gastric fever and a broken blood vessel while in England and almost died. His medical doctor older brother, Dr. Berthold Lasker (1860-1928), also a chess master, traveled from Berlin to England and saved his life.

๐Ÿ”น Chess Grandmaster and Composer

โ™ฆ๏ธ Richard Rรฉti was an Austro-Hungarian, later Czechoslovak chess grandmaster, chess author, and composer of endgame studies. He was one of the principal proponents of hypermodernism in chess.

โ–ช๏ธ Full name: Richard Rรฉti
โ–ช๏ธ Country: Austria-Hungary, Czechoslovakia
โ–ช๏ธ Born: 28 May 1889 Bรถsing, Austria-Hungary (now Pezinok, Slovakia)
โ–ช๏ธ Died: 6 June 1929 (aged 40) Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic)

โ™ฆ๏ธ Richard Rรฉti was born in 1889 in Bรถsing. At the age of 12, he had already submitted a chess problem to the chess column in รœber Land und Meer run by Hermann von Gottschall. Von Gottschall advised him to continue working on his chess. In 1903, the then 13-year old Rรฉti was introduced to Carl Schlechter who remarked "for his age, this is certainly exceptional". He went on to fare well at the 2nd Hungarian National tournament in Szรฉkesfehรฉrvรกr, 1907.(Edo) Rรฉti's interest in chess was dampened following some disappointing tournament results, although he won smaller events in Vienna 1909 and the 2nd Trebitsch Memorial in 1910.(Edo) His main interests then became mathematics and, to some extent, physics. He was about to finish his doctorate when World War I broke out. Rรฉti was assigned to clerical work due to his "somewhat weak constitution".
