On the 8th and 9th of February 2011, Maghami broke Israeli GM Alik Gershon 's 4 month old world record for the largest simul ever played by an individual by playing against 604 players, the result being +580 =16 -8 for a winning percentage 97.35%. In July 2012, he won the Tehran Open Chess Championship with 8.5/9 and the Ramezan Open also held in Tehran (7.5/9). =1st (5th on tiebreak) at the 2015 World Open. 2nd behind Pouria Darini at the 4th Sardaran Open 2015 (in July).
