Giving up the bishop pair in exchange for another advantage: a weak enemy pawn on d6.
1...fxe6 2.Qh4! Qd7
Or 2...Qxh4 3.gxh4 and the d6-pawn falls right away.
3.Qd8+! Qxd8 4.Bxd8 Nd7
After 4...Nc6 5.Bc7 that pawn is also doomed.
5.Bc7 Nc5 6.Rxd6
White wins a pawn with a decisive advantage.

Black to move
Black "messes up" the game before White manages to consolidate, with a long-term advantage thanks to the bishop pair.
2.c5 Ne4! 3.Nxe4
If 3.Nb1, preparing 4 f3, then 3...f5! with the idea of 4.f3 Nxg3 5.Nxg3 f4+ etc.
3...dxe4 4.h4
Or 4.Bxe4 Bxh3 5.Bxb7 Bxf1 6.Qxf1 f5! , followed by ...f5-f4 with an initiative.
4...Bg4 5.f3 exf3 6.Bxf3 Bxf3 7.Qxf3 Ne7!
8.Qxb7?! Nd5 9.Bg1 Ra8 , intending ...Rfb8, White is in trouble.
8...Nd5
Thanks to his strong knight Black is clearly better.
