Carlsen speaking to NRK with a rant lasting several minutes about why he thinks the tiebreak rules in this event are unfair. "I just don't think this is fair. It has to be changed." and "It's just too amateurish in a world championship."

Seeing the World Rapid Championship go from 15 rounds to 13 was an oddity, but seeing these tiebreak rules for a "World Championship" is beyond laughable.

While everyone was speaking about tie-breaks I want to notice another problem of very low raitings of some players. For example Gukesh has 2614 in classic and... 2050 in Rapid! Similar things about Mitrabha. Fide should do something, not to allow such a huge raiting differences.

From running behind Magnus Carlsen in a football field (in Qatar 2015) to now holding him to a draw, Nodirbek Abdusattorov has come a long way. Magnus Carlsen began the World Blitz 2019 with 5.0/5, this 15-year-old youngster finally stopped him!

🔗 ChessBase India (@ChessbaseIndia):
And today this boy beat Magnus Carlsen and became the World Rapid 2021 Champion! The dream run continues! 😀
