"It feels great. It was a very long tournament. When I came here, I thought my chances are low because the players are very experienced. Rating-wise, I was a contender, but in general, these tournaments are very tricky."
The #GrandSwiss2021 has finished after 11 exciting rounds! The winner Alireza Firouzja and the runner-up Fabiano Caruana, qualify for the 2022 #FIDECandidates, while Oparin, Yu Yangyi, Keymer, Vachier-Lagrave, Predke and Shirov qualify for the Grand Prix Series. ๐Ÿ‘

Not only has Alireza won #GrandSwiss2021 (and therefore qualified for #FIDECandidates2022) but he's also World top #5 now - and he's only 18! His tournament performance was 2855! Amazing results for Firouzja!

The 2021 FIDE http://Chess.com Women's Grand Swiss concluded today. Lei Tingjie emerged as the winner and qualified for the Women's Candidates. Elisabeth Paehtz was 2nd, Zhu Jiner 3rd and Mariya Muzychuk 4th; all four qualify for the next Women's Grand Prix series. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
