πŸ’  Notice on change of our U2200 Championship rule in relation to non Fide rated players

As the Unity management team we have received a raising concern & appeal to allow players 2300+ LICHESS Peak rating into our Events. Have considered the apply, we have decided to allow players with Official Lichess Username or accounts whose lichess peak rating in 2300+. Hence the following & this takes effect starting with our next U2200 Championship.

πŸ”· Regulations

1⃣ Players must use their Official Lichess accounts.

2⃣ Player category for Fide Unrated with Lichess rating above 2300 will be determined by Subtracting 200 Points from player Peak rating, for example a player with 2350 rating minus 200 points =2150 hence will play in 2100-2199 category.

πŸ”΅ Kindly note this Only applies to players with 2300+ lichess peak rating. All other players we will continue to determine category by Subtracting 100 points from peak rating.

🌐 The goal of this tournament is to provide a safe environment where chess players can compete and enjoy the games. Wish everyone good luck!

Never before and never since have I seen – and I cannot even imagine, such an amazing rapidity of chess thinking that Capablanca possessed in 1913-14. In blitz games he gave all the St. Petersburg players odds of five minutes to one – and he won- Alexander Alekhine.

Cleaning up and restoring historical footage is fun work on a Sunday morning: here's Alexander Alekhine before a simultaneous exhibition in late 1932.

What a fantastic photo. From left to right, Vasily Smyslov, Mikhail Tal, Mikhail Botvinnik, Boris Spassky, and Anatoly Karpov discussing a chess game. I want to be there what a fantasic atmosphere. Imagine how much IQ was in that place.

Chess puzzle of the week - Black to play and win shorts
Today marks 92 years since the birthday of Tigran Petrosian.

Dubbed "Iron Tigran" for his impenetrable and cautious playing style, the 9th World Chess Champion (1963-1969) was born on June 17, 1929.
