On May 11, 1997, exactly 24 years ago, Garry Kasparov made the infamous 7...h6 bet against Deep Blue. The computer did play the critical 8.Nxe6! and won quickly. You'll find Kasparov's thoughts on this dramatic incident in chapter ten of his book "Deep Thinking" (2017).
