Shri K.Viswanathan, father of Five time-world champion Viswanathan Anand passed away on 15th April, 2021.

He was 92 years old and breathed his last at a city hospital.
"He was a great support to Anand. He witnessed all of Anand’s world championship victories," said Anand's wife Aruna to The Hindu. "A simple man, he made sure his son had the right values. He took great pride in his achievements."

23-year-old Russian Kirill Alekseenko came into the #FIDECandidates as the clear underdog. In the 1st half he made five draws but lost to Caruana & Giri. He starts tomorrow's Round 8 with White vs. Grischuk!
