Yuri Averbakh, the world's oldest grandmaster, turns 99 today!

Until recently, he was still visiting the central chess club in Moscow and took an active part in the work of Chess Federation of Russia chess museum.

Yuri Averbakh (the oldest living GM - 99 years old today) faces Garry Kasparov (who would go on to become the youngest World Chess Champion in history) in a clock simultaneous display in the traditional GMs v. Young Pioneers' team event.
