What a performance! Congratulations for the new Dutch star Jorden van Foreest! It is a feeling does not happen very often to win the Tata Steel Chess ahead of Carlsen, Caruana, Giri , MVL and other great players!

After spending a relaxing weekend in the desert, I just got home to see the epic fail from #tatasteelchess today. I will be ranting about it on my stream tomorrow. #JusticeforAlireza

Stopping the game and disturbing players in time pressure is never acceptable, specially in this specific situation. This half point would not put any halt on Alireza’s career but let us be firm now and not let it happen again. Spread the word #chess #justiceforalireza

Svetozar Gligorić was born #OnThisDay in 1923.
He won the Yugoslavian championship a record 12 times, and represented his country with great success (+88−26=109) in 15 Chess Olympiads leading the team to Gold in 1950. In 1958, he was declared the best athlete of Yugoslavia.
“The best indicator of a Chess Player's form is his ability to sense the Climax of the game.”~Boris Spassky.

Well then I guess Spassky was almost always in form, as he was known for his ability to sense critical moments.
