🔸 One of the best game of Bronstein was his game with Viktor Korchnoi at Liningrad 1962. His own notes to this tactical game:
"This game is one of the best combinations in my life, if not the best"
During the 1962 Moscow vs. Leningrad Match Bronstein played the top board for the Moscow team. With the white pieces he defeated Viktor Korchnoi in a game that ended with a tactic!!
Below you see the final position after 39.Rxh6+ which Korchnoi resigned the game 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

17...Qc7!
This move Prevents White the chance to play 18 b4 due to the resulting pin on the c-pawn and Clears the knight's path to e7.
17...Qg5? There are no targets to attack on the white kingside and the black queen will be forced to return soon.
17...Rac8 Of course, black will not be allowed to play c4: 18.c4!

White has the more space due to an isolated pawn on d4, so he keeps the more tension on the board. Now is a good time to keep the bishop pair, while getting out of the way of rook's glare down the e-file.
