24...d3? [An inaccuracy. White had no serious threat that Black would have to rush. Black should have first played:]

25.gxf7+! Kf8 26.c3! Qg1+ 27.Bf1 Qg3+ 28.Kd1 Nf6?! [This move just helps White to improve his queen position to defend his king.]

[¹28...Be7! would be correct: 29.Qh8+ Kxf7 30.Qh5+ g6 31.Qh7+ Ke8 32.Qh3 Qxh3 33.Bxh3 Kf7-/+]

"If you are interested in improving, think of a draw offer as an offer to remain ignorant of what you would have learned in the remainder of the game."

FIDE Press Officer in Lausanne GM Yannick Pelletier put a smile on Aleksandra Goryachkina's face.

The top Russian player was sure her position was winning when Kosteniuk played 26... Qe7 because after a3-b4 the rook gets stuck on b5.
