Women's Candidates tournament currently underway in Kazan, home town of the great Rashid Nezmetdinov, whose 1950s record of 5 Russian Championships Peter Svidler finally broke in 2011 and after whom the local chess school is named.

No surprise is a quick draw between Muzychuk, Mariya and Muzychuk, Anna at the Women’s Candidates Tournament Round 1. It is never easy to play your own sister(s).
