The beauty of the desert took me a long time to appreciate. I always longed to be somewhere else. I always thought I should have grown up in Santa Cruz where my dad lives. My mom moved me to Arizona when I was only one. So I was raised in the desert. I always felt the desert calling me back every time I’ve left. There’s something deeper now after all these years that I appreciate. The desert has offered me experiences that have taught me how to live in it. How to survive and how to thrive. I wouldn’t change anything about this experience and I revel in the beauty of it.
