Independent media needs to unite against the Online Safety Act! Please reach out to as many channels as possible, even if you've already contacted some. The more requests they receive, the more likely they’ll join us.

Don't just message them directly—leave comments under their videos and posts, encouraging others to help spread the word. Let's defend free speech together.

It is time to turn the tide against the censors, with a non-denominational, non-partisan approach, in order to turn the system against itself.

Please send on to independent news providers and get in touch at onlinesafety@ukcolumn.org

A very candid piece from Craig Murray, which shows just how much things have moved on in forty years, or not.

"Thatcher was Prime Minister and she simply was a straightforward supporter of apartheid. This is much denied but I am an eye witness. Geoffrey Howe was Foreign Minister and it was never easy to determine what he thought about anything. Junior ministers running day to day policy were Lynda Chalker and Malcolm Rifkind, who were both viscerally anti-apartheid.

But the line that Mandela was a terrorist and the ANC a terrorist organisation was dictated by Thatcher and absolutely insisted upon.

It is difficult now to explain the intensity of feeling in the UK and the strength of the anti-apartheid campaign. Scores of letters would arrive every day, many from MPs, and – this bit is hard to believe now – in those days every letter would be answered point by point, not with a generic reply."

I have recorded my UK Column event speech into a podcast and it's on my Substack.

I don't like doing podcasts but apparently people enjoy them more than reading. I can't stand the sound of my voice but I'm stuck with it.

I will only be doing one or two podcasts a month though and future ones will be about legal cases relevant to people, or law related stuff that people either need to be aware of, or that is useful.

The podcasts are for paid subscribers only

The Substack is here

Earlier this month, Douglas Murray put forward a very compelling case for the entire world to ignore everything he writes, says, draws or mimes.

Landing most heavily in the 'please stop it, Dougie' column are:

"On 7 October last year Israel was surprised by a brigade-sized invasion of terrorists into its territory. These terrorists raped, murdered and burned their way as far inside Israel as they could get. How this intelligence and military failure was possible is something that Israelis still have to work out."

And:

"But there it is. The wisdom of the international community is that ceasefires are always desirable, that negotiated settlements are always to be desired, and that violence is never the answer. As so often, these wise international voices have no idea what they are talking about."

The Rudakubana narrative seems, at best, improbable.

With the Skripal fiasco in mind, how on earth could it take until now to work out what he may have been up to with his castor beans (readily available on Amazon (and elsewhere, of course))?

Presumably, he hadn't managed to actually make any ricin, or everyone would be dead. Wouldn't they?

On this point, I do recommend Sam Bailey on "bio-weapons":

Luckily, like me, the vast majority of the world will resist the urge to click on the link, resulting in the eternal perpetuation of, perhaps, one of the greatest mysteries of the age.

In the event of a scrap in the street, or a robbery, or a traffic collision, police will immediately cordon off the area, to preserve evidence, and to reduce the risk of further harm.

The exception to this, of course, is a nerve agent attack, with the potential for mass casualties, where it is customary to do absolutely nothing, save for creating spaces within which the public may eat sandwiches.

As David Lammy continues to prove, certain special qualities are required in order to hold an office of state.

Not an advert for fake butter, it seems.

An advert for fake science instead. The address bar is included intentionally, as a reminder of how the BBC categorises "health".

Like most other innovations, it is primarily concerned with money.

Dramatic seems to be the right word.

This is from ONS data released on 28 Oct 24:

"In 2023, there were 591,072 live births in England and Wales, a decrease of 14,407 compared with the previous year (605,479), and the lowest number of live births on record since 1977 (569,259).

It is also the first time the number of live births for England and Wales has dropped below 600,000 since 2002. Records of live births first exceeded 600,000 in 1851 (615,865) and have been recorded below this number for only 11 of the past 172 years."

UK population in 1977 approx 56 million; 12 million fewer than today.

I should like to provide some constructive feedback for the kind and diligent people who invest so much time in impersonating me.

Did anyone fall for this?

Any tips for the impostors?

In response to those wondering why I did not make reference to the Speaker's Statement at 1159 yesterday morning, in the news segment about censorship, it is because I was not aware it had happened, as we were in the thick of putting the programme together.

However, in response to a reference to the Southport case, he said:

"I wish to remind the House that, following the horrendous, terrible incident in Southport on 29 July, a suspect is awaiting trial, having been charged with multiple offences. That means that the House’s sub judice resolution is engaged, and references should not be made to the case. I know that all hon. Members wish to see justice done in this case. It is therefore paramount that nothing is said in this House that could potentially prejudice a proper trial or lead to it being abandoned.

I know it can be frustrating when we see reports in the media of matters that we are not free to discuss here, but that arises from Parliament’s constitutional relationship with the courts. More importantly, at the heart of this case are three young girls. We all want justice to be done for them and their families, and for others injured in and affected by this appalling incident. Speculation about the case, including comments made in this House, could seriously risk prejudicing proceedings. I know that none of us would ever wish to do that. Therefore, it would be wrong of me to exercise a waiver in this case. Members should not refer to it, or risk prejudicing it."

Those of you that have stuck with it will know that content fired into this channel is somewhat sporadic, so continued thanks for your forbearance.

Output is likely to see something of a dip over the next few weeks, but don't go away. Service, of a sort, to resume late Nov.

But, first, witness this from the BBC:

"There’s a feeling here that Ukraine should have negotiated at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, to prevent the death and destruction they’ve seen since.

Both sides engaged in talks in those early months of 2022. But evidence of alleged Russian war crimes halted attempts at diplomacy, and strengthened Ukraine’s resolve to fight on."

Stringing up Boris Johnson (and others) would be a waste of good string.
