On Monday, I spoke to Basil Valentine on TNT Radio. Amongst other things, we discussed the incident at Manchester Airport. My point of view was given before seeing the CCTV footage of the initial and bungled arrest attempt by police and the subsequent violence inflicted upon them. Having reviewed the CCTV footage, my point of view is unchanged. The principles of the use of force can only be applied to the current situation, it is that simple.

On UK Column News yesterday (31 Jul 24), I warned about the use of preventative orders on behaviour, in order to keep the public "safe". This afternoon, Keir Starmer has announced his intent to make widespread use of such orders.

In essence, this gives local authorities and police powers to control the behaviour of people, because of things they have done in the past, rather than things they are doing, or might be about to do.

This was posted on X by Doctor Dr McHonk Honk (@TheEyes2022). In light of the programmed response of Tommy Robinson followers, and the resultant emission from Downing Street this afternoon, I think this is very much worth reading:

"Genuine question. Where was Tommy Robinson during the large-scale freedom protests from 2020 onwards? Maybe I missed him. Did he lead any of these mass protests against the globalists/big pharma/government overreach etc? Did he speak out extensively against lockdowns, vaccine mandates and the attack on our basic liberties? Was he vocal about Netanyahu's criminal treatment of his OWN people during this time? Maybe he was.

If he wasn't, is whipping up 'anti-Muslim' hatred his only gig? His Twitter account was reinstated exactly a month after October 7th. Weird timing. His Israeli handlers would have known, that due to Israel's planned genocide in Gaza, turning people against 'EVERYTHING ISLAM' was needed then, more than ever. And boy has it worked.

He has managed to turn a genuine immigration issue, into a foaming-at-the-mouth hate-fest. So many 'patriots' couldn't give a singular fuck about what's happening in Gaza even though it's a defining event in history. A genocide, overlooked and joked about, because Tommy's beloved Israel are the ones carrying it out.

Now, so much anger is aimed at immigrants, not the people facilitating the immigration. It's aimed at those protesting for peace and an end to slaughter, not at those pushing and funding the slaughter. Perfect for those pulling the strings. The Palestinian flag is now seen as a 'Hamas' flag. Peace marches are 'pro-terrorist'. More inversions of reality. The murderous state of Israel are the ones who benefit most from all this. They'll be DELIGHTED with their man. Going forward there will be no distinctions made between the vast, vast majority of moderate Muslims and the tiny, tiny minority of radical Muslims. The patriots are being trained to see only 'Muslim invaders'. Even Romany gypsies can be Muslim invaders when it suits. A job well done.

It is also no coincidence that the vast majority of those allowed to be the 'alt-media' during the covid farce, were Israel-firsters. Certain voices were pushed to the fore. A few of the voices I still trust are @21WIRE
, @DocAhmadMalik
, @garethicke
and @MaajidNawaz
. They seem to have survived the near complete capture of alt-media.

For such a thorn in the establishment's side, Robinson's agitation sure is promoted on social media. I've never followed him but had to block him as every single piece of anti-Muslim bile he spewed showed up at the top of my timeline. Not surprising, knowing that Elon Musk is Netanyahu's gimp-toy.

I happily wore the far right badge for being a 'conspiracy theorist' but I'll never wear it for being a racist or anti-everything-Islam. I see Zionists as a far bigger threat to my security, than even radical Muslims could ever be. And that is not 'anti-semitic'. Zionism is an extremist, political ideology which thrives on apartheid, racism and supremacism. Tommy Robinson is their biggest fan."

Today's (1 Aug 24) concluding remarks of Gavin Stephens, Chairman of the National Police Chiefs' Council:

“We welcome any support which helps us to strengthen our policing capability to deal with these types of incidents. We look forward to working with government and receiving more details on the creation of a National Violent Disorder Programme and further work on tools such as Live Facial Recognition."

Keir Starmer has set himself, and all police forces, up for a massive fall. He has promised a unicorn, in the form of a "national capability" to respond to violent disorder. This cannot be delivered, in any functional or practical sense.

Nonetheless, it turns out to have been the perfect opportunity to announce powers which deal with pre-crime and to expand the use of facial recognition (the control of which is likely to be from beyond these shores).

"All women who are at least 28 weeks pregnant on 1 September 2024 should be offered a single dose of the RSV vaccine, through commissioned services. After that, pregnant women will become eligible as they reach 28 weeks gestation, and remain eligible up to birth. The ideal opportunity to offer vaccination would be at the 28-week antenatal contact (ANC), following prior discussion at the 20-week ANC. Yes. She doesn't need to look any further than her own government if she's interested in crime. She could ask Keir Starmer what he did to stop Jimmy Saville preying on defenceless children in hospitals for a start.

In some ways, this is hard to watch, because it exposes the gaping void between the quality and depth of debate in years gone by and the idiotic paddling in the shallows that we see today. However, listening to Powell and Miller talking is riveting, partly because of the number of very well considered points they make, but mostly because they are able to avoid falling out with one another.

I just want to jump in here on the arrest of the person for posting an inaccurate tweet.

The attached is, imho, very badly written. As far as I know, and unless there has been a radical change in law in the last few days, it is not a criminal offence to post inaccurate information due to not checking it's veracity.

The law states the following :-

It is an offence to a) intentionally stir racial hatred; b) knowingly publish false information intending to cause non-trivial harm

My understanding is that the person arrested is accused of this statutory definition. Hence why I think the Cheshire Police post is itself disinformation in a way, and as I say, very badly written.

I would welcome the thoughts of Charles Malet on this, ex policeman. He will likely know more than me on the broader context of these offences

Cheshire Police announced on Thursday that they had arrested a woman for offences under s19 of the Public Order Act 1986 and s179 of the Online Safety Act (OSA) 2023. They then tweeted that “It’s a stark reminder of the dangers of posting information on social media platforms without checking the accuracy. It also acts as a warning that we are all accountable for our actions, whether that be online or in person.”

The phrase upon which this arrest hangs is "without checking the accuracy" and how, exactly, such a judgement may be arrived at. Section 179 OSA 2023 says a person commits an offence if a message sent "conveys information that the person knows to be false" and that "the person intended the message, or the information in it, to cause non-trivial psychological or physical harm to a likely audience". First of all, with regard to a social media post, "it is not necessary for the purposes of subsection (1)(c) that the person intended to cause harm to any one of them in particular (or to all of them)", so we are immediately in the zone of imagined harm, rather than actual or intended harm.

With regard to a "false communication offence", the most significant part comes in s180, which states that "A recognised news publisher cannot commit an offence under section 179." Yes, you really did read that correctly. The BBC, for example, may send a message they know to be false, with the specific intent to cause "non-trivial psychological harm". In other words, state-sponsored propaganda is legitimised in statute by OSA 2023.

Back to Cheshire, it is inferred by police that the message or messages sent, with false information, were sent in the knowledge that the information was false and that the reasons for doing so were both to cause psychological harm and to stir up racial hatred. There is a considerable gulf between "checking the accuracy" of a message and sending one which "conveys information that the person knows to be false". It is not clear whether the alleged offence here is the genesis of an incorrect story, or the promulgation of one, but the critical detail should be whether the suspect believed the information to be true, or not.

The onus is on police to demonstrate intent, by means of an investigation, which would involve an interview. Transmitting information, which subsequently turns out to be false, cannot automatically be presumed to be loaded with the intent to either stir up racial hatred, or to cause psychological harm. However, there is increasing precedent in this area, seen most obviously in the case of Sam Melia, where CPS gave a description of the magnitude of his intent, based on very peripheral and circumstantial evidence. Sending messages which turn out to be inaccurate may be considered reckless, but recklessness is not one of the elements which may make up an offence under s179 OSA 2023.

What, one wonders, would have happened if such a message had been sent, suggesting that the suspect in the Southport killings had been white British, with white British parents?

You know things are going in the right direction when......
