On 25th March 2024, the Government announced “plans” for enhanced water fluoridation in the North East of England. A consultation is launched alongside these plans, the results of which will be ignored, for your safety.

Nonetheless, if the consultation is not responded to, there are no sticks with which to beat the Government, and only limited justification for taking action.

To get you in the mood, this is an excerpt from the press release:

“Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral which protects teeth against decay. Natural levels of fluoride in water can be safely topped up to provide additional protection for teeth and reduce dental health inequalities, with decades of research showing it is effective and safe.”

For further detailed background, please see UK Column interview on this with Joy Warren “Fluoride—The Poisoned Chalice: In Plain Sight”

Julian Assange's hearing is 10am today, apparently the hearing will only be for 10 mins and it will be electronic not in court. No one will be present physically or remotely.

Good job the Russians don’t have access to the internet.

“Type 26 and Type 31 frigates and Type 45 destroyers will be fitted with a trainable countermeasure launcher system under a £135 million contact with Systems, Engineering and Assessment Ltd (SEA), supporting more than 150 skilled roles across SEA and UK supply chain.”

Another nail in the coffin of OPSEC.

Is anyone in a position to verify the claim of "recall"? 👇 https://lawenforcementtoday.com/us-army-prepared-to-implement-army-retiree-recall-program-but-why
With thanks to Ze New Vorld Wheelie, here is the front page of the attached recall notice for US Armed Forces, with the pdf link below.

It is Executive Order 13223, from 2001, with an additional clause.

For more on this, see t.me/rattletrap1776/7777.

"If fomenting World War III is a metric of success (and in Washington, it is), then Nuland will be on her way to a high-paid professorship at an American university, if not a fellowship at a Beltway think tank. Nuland’s career is a testament to career officials failing upward in the elite class of D.C. bureaucrats."

Tristan Justice with a somewhat restrained conclusion to his piece on the demise of Victoria Nuland's career.

Morgan Lerette gave me an extremely candid, amusing and thought-provoking interview for UK Column. He had been working for Blackwater in Baghdad two decades ago and he witnessed the chaotic and unseemly world of private military contractors (PMCs) at first-hand.

He has also written a book about his experiences, which rattles along at breakneck speed, sparing no details: Guns, Girls and Greed. I recommend it, sincerely. Full of action, but laced with many poignant and philosophical reflections on the nature and conduct of warfare, by any means.

I think Morgan’s interview has universal appeal, but I should especially like to direct military veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces towards it, so if anyone springs to mind, please send it on.

Though written in January, the Home Office has only yesterday published its response to the most recent State of Policing response (2022 so not, in actual fact, very recent).

During the peak of the Braverman meddling, which looked very much like thinly-veiled Zionism, the words “operational independence” were used repeatedly.

In James Cleverly’s letter is a paragraph about granting powers to His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC (Cleverly has inserted a typo here)) to “give directions” to a police force.

This is being dressed up as a measure by which HMIC may steer a failing force back on course. The reality is that this legitimises interference with operational independence, and it is not so hard to see the Home Secretary leaning on HMIC to achieve just this effect.

A dark development.

State of Policing 2022 report: government response

Published 28 March 2024

Power to give directions in relation to a police force

Granting HMCI the power to direct forces is a significant new power. Such a power would need a proper system of accountability to accompany it, as well as detailed consideration of how it would be exercised in relation to the wider system of policing governance. As you know, I already hold powers under section 40 of the Police Act 1996 to intervene where a force or local policing body is failing. That said, I agree you should be able to raise any concerns you have with me about force performance, and discussions at Police Performance Oversight Group should inform advice on whether I should use my powers of intervention in specific circumstances. We already have regular bi-lateral meetings scheduled, and I would welcome you continuing to use these to highlight any significant performance concerns you have.”

Jeremy Bowen's farewell piece for the BBC?

"The UN's most senior human rights official, Volker Türk, said in a BBC interview that Israel bore significant blame, and that there was a "plausible" case that Israel was using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza.

Mr Türk, who is the UN high commissioner for human rights, said that if intent was proven, that would amount to a war crime."

I took part in an Easter vigil last night. One of the lessons was from Genesis 22, which concerns Abraham preparing to sacrifice his own son, Isaac.

It is a text which makes for uneasy listening (or reading, of course). There will be many other interpretations, but this one seems to make some sense of it:

"The Bible has many difficult passages for modern readers, but few are more challenging than the moment when God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac in Genesis 22. This story causes us to ask a lot of troubling questions. What kind of God would ask for this? Is God commanding child sacrifice? Isn’t this request in conflict with everything else God seems to value?"

Regardless of your beliefs on any of this, I hope you are enjoying a peaceful, reflective and positive weekend.

Russia’s veto is about its breaching of sanctions in pursuit of weapons to use against Ukraine: UK statement at the UN Security Council

Statement by Ambassador Barbara Woodward at the UN Security Council meeting on nuclear non-non-proliferation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

“This veto does not demonstrate concern for the North Korean people or the efficacy of sanctions. It is about Russia gaining the freedom to evade and breach sanctions in pursuit of weapons to be used against Ukraine. This Panel, through its work to expose sanctions non-compliance, was an inconvenience for Russia.”

Will Harris, who does not claim to know anything about the environment, food or rural affairs, has just been appointed as an “advisor” to the Ministry of, um, Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

He will “support, advise and challenge the department on its customer focus and how it delivers for customers.”

Business problems at DEFRA? Tip of the iceberg, one might venture.

The new draft of Nigerian scammers in post at 77 Brigade appear to have had a quiet weekend. The result of this is that nearly every message I post is followed by some ludicrous invitation to join some sort of chat group, or to spend all your money in one go.

Please disregard such messages. I will not be asking you to join a chat group, nor will I be suggesting you toss all your cash in a oner.

Why is anyone on the periphery of this destruction considering anything other than pushing for peace?

If this rate of attrition were applied to the Armed Forces of the UK, every single one of them would be dead by the end of July.

"Despite Kiev’s lack of success on the battlefield, the Ukrainian leadership “is still trying to convince its Western sponsors of its ability to resist the Russian Army,” Shoigu said. To do so, Kiev has resorted to terrorism and long-range strikes on Russian territories, targeting the civilian population, the minister added."

When the history of the world wide web comes to be taught to those who cannot remember time before its widespread use, how will the benefits be explained?

Google trends shows the ten most popular searches for "how to" questions from 2023, in the UK. For clarity, these stats represent the greatest increases, rather than overall search quantity.

Question 3 appears to be the only one which could point the younger generations in the right direction.
