What is our ego? Is it psychoanalytic theory that Freud encapsulated into three distinctions? Perhaps. Or is it pride? Ezra Benson said, “Pride is concerned with who is right, humility is concerned with what is right.” And he referenced the core of pride is the enmity between God and us, which is our hatred, hostility, or opposition to. Benson further goes on to include that pride can be enmity towards others where we elevate ourselves above others by diminishing them.

In all the years I have seen the grassroots at work, the pride or ego factor, destroys progress. Let me be frank; there is a great work to be done and there’s no room or time for fracturing in the movement. Those that claim to have the same goal do not demonstrate it by fracturing against similar groups (throwing away individuals or organizations) because their way is better.

The ego runs wild and like a stampede destroys the ultimate goal of positive change because the only thing that matters to the ego is that the person is right and is on top. It creates an insatiable appetite to gain attention, fame, glory, and credit because the one thing that matters is power to the man that is deficient in humility.

The conundrum is this: once the ego has ravaged a movement, the trust is lost and it’s nearly impossible to mend without a lot of concerted effort. It makes sense that groups are careful in who they work with. Oftentimes they have been betrayed. I know I have my boundaries.

It is vital that to preserve the trust, one must adhere to the highest form of integrity and character in all actions. We cannot go wrong when we are humble enough to know our weaknesses and other’s strengths and to know when to lead and when to be led.

Proud to be Utah’s rep of Restore Liberty and stay connected throughout the country with The People. We are the answers we seek. No politician will “save” or fix this. It’s about us and has always been from the genesis of our nation.

Just because someone gets on national tv, it doesn’t make what they say true. And when multiple points of incredulously false information are stated, the subject matter loses credibility and creates a wake of problems. Many people are deceived under the pretense that saving the state is the goal but I begin to wonder if it’s not about saving the spot in the limelight.

There’s been a few who questioned this and want to know who I am talking about. I lost the comment and tried to reply, so I will just post it here. It does not have to be about anyone particularly because we are seeing this repeatedly. If the shoe fits, wear it. I speak vaguely because I believe people can think for themselves, or at least should. But I also see way too much believing of everything that is being told. My post is addressing the principle of it.

Mike Lindell, for example, told the nation that none of Utah’s votes counted. Why would he say this? Another comment was made that Deidre admitted votes were switching. No she didn’t. When people say outlandish comments like this, it makes election efforts, or anyone questioning, more difficult for those working on it. It makes it more difficult to be taken seriously. The government is laughing about this and I don’t blame them. It ruins Lindell’s own credibility. A more recent example is Biden when he claims anyone who voted for Trump is a threat to our nation. Again, it’s not honest. Even news outlets that we know and those we trust are falling into the trap of reporting just to get “a story” out there.

We have a responsibility to think through the information that is presented and make wise judgments about that information. And those with the opportunity to have a large platform have the responsibility to speak the truth if they want to be taken seriously.
