Today in our #FAQ section, we're addressing the question:

WHY DO I SEE TASKS IN THE “ALL” TAB THAT I DID NOT CREATE OR ARE NOT ASSIGNED TO ME?

💡 The ALL tab displays not only your tasks, but also those of your colleagues. Such tasks are marked with a special chevron icon (see the comment for an example).

➕ Actions with such tasks are available only to participants in this task (the author, assignees), as well as administrators of this project, others can only view them.

⚙️ The administrators of the Telegram group on which the project is based are considered to be the project administrators. They can perform any actions with the task except for completing and deleting it. In order to complete or delete a task, they must first become participants in this task — put themselves in the place of the Executor or Author.

Our SMM is in the process if moving, so I'm writing today's post. Please forgive me if it's too complicated and long ))

I'll tell you in detail about each new feature from the latest release.

🔨 We've improved the /new command, so now you can use it to reply to any message in the chat — this will create a task based on the original message.

By the way, we got this idea from your feedback, thanks again!

1️⃣ If you just replied to a message with the /new command and didn't write anything else, the original message will be the name of the task.

2️⃣ But if you wrote something else in response to the message with the command, for example:

/new Prepare a presentation based on these comments @Jhon

then this text will be the name of the task, and the message you responded to will be its description.

This is super convenient, we're already using it ourselves! Combined with the previously created /comment command, it provides an excellent tool for creating and commenting on tasks directly from the chat, which further strengthens the link between our task manager and Telegram. #UPDATES

✈️ Let me tell you about the second feature that was included in the latest release — we've improved the task setting in private messages.

As a reminder, you can write text in a private message to the bot or forward any message, and a task will be created based on it.

What has been improved?

1️⃣ Now, after writing the text, the familiar 3 buttons appear: Create task/Edit task/Cancel, which allow you to either create a task immediately or edit everything you need in the graphical interface.

2️⃣ By default, the task is set for the current date. It's a small thing, but it has made life much easier. I am a fan of the GTD methodology, and before, when I quickly unloaded a task from my memory, I would lose it because it didn't make it into the TODAY block. Now the problem is solved. #UPDATES

🔎 Let me tell you about the latest feature in the latest release: Searching for tasks via inline mode.

Inline mode is when you type @UTasksBot in the chat line and press the space bar. Then you have two options:

1️⃣ At this point, a small tab will pop up above the input line — click on it to go to the graphical interface where you can create a task. Previously, this technique only worked in private chats, but now it also works in group chats.

2️⃣ Type the name or number of the task, and the system will find and display the three most relevant tasks at the top. Click on the one you need, and it will be written in the chat. This is convenient when you need to remember the terms of the task or write a comment on it.

It's harder to write than to show. We'll make a video soon; it's actually a handy feature when you use it often. #UPDATES

🔄 We’ve released a small update polishing the behavior of the /new command.

You can now reply with this command to an image or a file in the chat — this will create a task with the original image or file attached.

💭 The following logic still applies:

🟡 If you reply to a message with the /new command without any text, the original message becomes the task name or — if the image had no accompanying text — the default name New task is used;
🟡 If you reply to a message with /new and add some text, this text becomes the task name, and the message you replied to becomes its description.

⚫️Scroll down to the “History and comments” block;
⚫️Click on the “Add comment” button and send it.

➕Done — the comment appears in the task history!
Important: comments added in this way are not displayed in the project chat. We'll do it soon.

✔️We are continuing to develop the comment functionality, and this is the first iteration.
