Today in our #FAQ section, we’re tackling an issue that some users encounter when creating a group project.

UTasks offers two ways to create a group project:

1⃣ FROM THE APP MENU. In some cases - for example, when using an outdated version of the client - this method can lead to errors.

2⃣ ADDING THE BOT TO A TELEGRAM GROUP. This method is more stable and consistently works without issues.

Our recommendation: If you run into errors when creating a project through the app menu, just use the second method - add the bot to your chat like a regular user.

📺 Today we're sharing a detailed guide on how to comment on a task.

💬 If you need to clarify task details or give feedback, use the “Discuss” button inside the task.

Once you click it, a message with the task description will be sent to the project chat. Reply to that message to leave your comment - it will be saved automatically.

All comments are written directly in the project chat and stored in the task history, so you can always come back to them.

Comments are saved when replying to ANY task-related notification.

If UTasks is lagging or just acting weird — check if your Telegram is up to date.

🤕 We’re handling your support tickets about “nothing works,” and 9 times out of 10, the real culprit is an outdated Telegram client. Seriously.

Telegram changes its behavior and interface from time to time. Since UTasks is built right into Telegram, using a version from the last century (or even last month) pretty much guarantees bugs. So, here's the deal ⤵

When in doubt — reset it out.
Even better? A fresh update.

HOW DO RECURRING TASKS WORK IN UTASKS?

➡We know the current logic behind recurring tasks isn’t always intuitive - it behaves more like calendar events than traditional tasks:

🟡 When the due date arrives, the task is automatically moved to the next scheduled date;
🟡 If you click "Complete", the task simply closes - no new copy is created.

This behavior can be confusing, especially if you're expecting the typical task flow. We get it - and we’re already working on a new, more familiar logic.

Hey friends!
It’s been a while since our last update - but the wait is over!

The main goal of this release (and the next couple) is to strengthen the connection between your Telegram chat and our app.

Here’s what’s new:

/comment COMMAND

1⃣ With this command, you can add a comment to any task directly from the chat.

2⃣ You can also turn any previously sent message into a task comment - just reply to it using this command. And it doesn’t have to be text — files, images, and videos work too! They’ll all be added to the task.

Command format:

/comment Number Text

where:
Number – the task number;
Text – your comment.

Example:

/comment PC-234 We need to improve the presentation

UPDATE 2/3

Hey everyone! We're back with more updates!

🪅 NEW FEATURE FOR THE /new COMMAND

Previously, when you entered the /new command, a task text would appear along with two buttons: “Create Task” and “Cancel.” Now we've added a third one — “Edit Task.” With it, you can tweak the task right in the app’s graphical interface and save your changes.

We've started using it ourselves all the time — super convenient!

Command format:

/new Name @assignee //Date !!Deadline Description

where:
Name - task name;
@assignee - assignee;
//Date - plan date;
!!Deadline - due date;
Description - task description (on a new line).

Example:

/new Prepare a report @Denis //12.11.23

Hey everyone! Here's the final batch of July updates!

💡 INLINE MODE IN GROUP CHATS

Previously, inline mode was only available in private chats - it let you assign tasks directly to someone without creating a group.

Now you can use it in group chats too - just open the app, choose the project, and fill in the necessary fields - same as always.

🟣 Just a quick reminder - besides paying via bank transfer, you can purchase team licenses directly in the app using Telegram Stars.

Here’s how it works:

1⃣ Once your payment goes through, the bot will send you a private message with certificates — one for each annual license.

2⃣ Each certificate includes an activation link. The license will be automatically assigned to whoever clicks that link.

3⃣ Want to pass a license to a colleague? Simply forward them the message with the certificate.
