How are the notification settings in your profile and in each chat’s settings connected?

We decided to clarify this separately, as it can be a bit confusing.

In UTasks, there are two distinct notification settings: one for the “INBOX” project and another for GROUP projects.

It’s important not to mix them up!

🔵 To configure notifications for your “INBOX” project, head to your User Profile ➡ Settings ➡ Inbox Notifications.

🔵 For GROUP PROJECTS, click the gear icon ⚙ next to the project name ➡ Project Settings ➡ Collaborative Event Notifications or Personal Notifications.

And yes, we haven’t forgotten your request for customizable notification timing - it’s on our list!

This release is packed with new features - too much to cover in just one post!

⚡️ The highlight: a REDESIGNED TASK CARD! It may look a bit unfamiliar at first, but the task creation screen is now even more functional.

Here’s what’s new:
1⃣ Set Task Priority.
This feature is available for PRO-users;

2⃣ Manage Task Statuses.
PRO-users now have access to 5 statuses: New, To Do, In Progress, In review, and Closed. On the FREE plan you’ll have New and Closed only.

3⃣ Task Numbers.
Each task now gets a unique number in the upper right corner after creation, so you can refer to tasks by their numbers instead of names.

⭐HOW TO BUY PRO-PLAN USING TELEGRAM STARS?

According to Telegram’s policy, all digital goods and services within the Telegram's ecosystem are purchased exclusively with Telegram Stars.

Three ways to purchase Telegram Stars for your PRO-plan:

1⃣ Directly through the UTasks. Even if your Stars balance is zero, Stars will be purchased and applied to your subscription simultaneously. This process works just like a standard purchase from the Apple or Google store, charging the payment method linked to your Apple or Google account.

2⃣ Purchase Stars in advance through @PremiumBot.
Once purchased, you can use these Stars in the UTasks to pay for PRO-plan.

3⃣ Purchase Stars in advance on the Fragment auction platform. After purchasing on Fragment, use these Stars to pay for PRO in the UTasks bot.

This same process applies if you're buying PRO for a team.

A large-scale issue in Russia is affecting many services that use Cloudflare’s ECH encryption protocol. According to experts, Roskomnadzor is actively blocking traffic encrypted this way.

We responded quickly, switching to an alternative encryption protocol, and the issue has now been resolved.

Today in our #FAQ section, we’re tackling one of the most frequently asked questions:

DOES UTASKS WORK IN GROUPS WITH TOPICS?

The short answer: NO.

Here’s why:

❌ Lack of Topic Information: When added to a group, the bot doesn’t receive any data from Telegram’s API about existing topics within that group.

❌ Limitations on Workarounds: While the bot can receive information about newly created topics, even if users attempt to recreate or clear them, these events may not register due to occasional Telegram API glitches. This leaves users manually recreating topics, costing time and message history.

❌ Risk of Task Loss: In the worst-case scenario, the bot can lose its connection with topics, which may result in lost tasks. Fixing this manually isn’t practical, especially at scale.

To sum it up, we explored various workarounds, but every time we encountered the same issue:

⚠ GROUPS WITH TOPICS ARE UNDERDEVELOPED ON TELEGRAM’S API SIDE, LACKING THE STABILITY NEEDED FOR RELIABLE TASK MANAGEMENT.

This is one of the few cases where Telegram’s tools fall short for our needs. We’re hopeful that future API updates will allow us to deliver a reliable service for topic-enabled groups!

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF PROJECTS IN UTASKS?

UTasks supports 2 types of projects:

1️⃣ Personal Projects

Personal projects are tailored for managing your own tasks. Each user has a default personal project called Inbox. If you haven’t created a separate personal project, tasks will automatically be assigned to your Inbox by default.

Inline tasks are also saved to your Inbox! Inline tasks are quick tasks you can assign directly to any Telegram user without needing to create a shared group.

2️⃣ Group Projects

This is the standout feature of UTasks!

Group projects are based on a shared Telegram group.

Simply add @UTasksBot to any group, and you’ll unlock the ability to
collaborate seamlessly – you assign tasks to group members, and they can assign tasks to you!
