Hey everyone!
We’ve been getting a lot of requests for the bot to work in groups with topics. We gave it our best shot, but unfortunately, we couldn't crack it.
It’s one of those rare situations where Telegram’s API just doesn’t provide enough functionality. When the bot is added to a group with topics, we can’t access the list of existing topics. We spent a week trying different solutions, but no luck. However, we did manage to make something else work!
Until now, Areas were essentially folders for projects, allowing you to group multiple projects under one name and collapse them together. Super handy when you’ve got lots of projects on the same theme.
With this update, Areas have become more than just folders - they’re now global projects containing other projects as subprojects.
You asked for subproject functionality, and here it is - just in a slightly different form. Instead of adding subprojects directly to projects, we’ve turned existing projects into subprojects within Areas.
We hope that makes sense! 😂
As always, it’s better to try it out yourself than to just read about it. Create an Area, add your projects, and check it out in action!

Hey everyone!
We've donned our "Better late than never" t-shirts to bring you some great news - UTasks is preparing its long-awaited documentation!
Let’s not kid ourselves - you’ve been asking for this for a while (though, let’s be honest, who ever really asks for documentation?). It’s like adding a wine bar to a pool - not obvious at first, but once it’s there, everyone loves it!
This documentation will make it much easier for you to get started with UTasks, navigate new features, and find answers to common questions.
We’re planning to expand the UTasks documentation in Russian and translate it into English. For now, you can dive into one of our first Russian articles here.
Please read and share your thoughts we’d love to hear your feedback on clarity, usability, and suggestions for improvement. Your feedback is important!

Hello everyone!
In the #TEAM section, we’d like to introduce Kostya. Kostya is our DevOps expert, ensuring that everything runs like clockwork.
Despite his humble demeanor, Kostya plays one of the most crucial roles—he’s responsible for maintaining the security of the UTasks application.
He was so focused on safeguarding our systems that he almost didn’t want to be distracted by the video.
But the rest of us stepped in to cover him while Kostya quickly filmed this edgy debut short clip.
Stay tuned as we introduce the rest soon!

Hey everyone!
We’ve received this question several times, phrased in different ways:
So, we decided to cover it in this post⬇ and added it to our FAQ in the documentation.
1⃣ In the bot chat simply tap TASKS at the bottom left. This will take you to the main page of the mini-application.
2⃣ Open any chat room with a bot and click TASKS. You’ll see the task list for that specific project. Press BACK to return to the app’s main page.
3⃣ Tap on a task in any notification. You’ll go straight to the specific task. Press BACK to view the task list, then press BACK again to reach the main page.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask—we’re happy to provide quick, clear answers!

As we were writing it, we finally figured out how everything works ourselves, and now we’re eager to share it with you.
For now, it’s available in Russian, so feel free to take a look and let us know what could be improved. We’ll definitely consider your feedback when preparing the English version.

Think of it as a perfect melodrama: straightforward and to the point. There’s a task, there’s an executor, and the question remains - will they find happiness before the deadline?

Hey, friends!
This is Denis, CEO & Founder of UTasks.
I'm excited to share with you our ambitious plans for the future development of UTasks.
#NEWS
Broadly speaking, there are two main task areas in UTasks' backlog:the mobile app and the web app.
Now, let me get into the details!
By the end of the year, we aim to complete the core functionality of the mobile app. Here's what we're working on:
1⃣ A redesigned task card with additional fields for Priority, Task Status, and Labels.
2⃣ An updated calendar and customizable notifications - features that many of you have requested in chat!
3⃣ Filters and sorting. You’ll be able to remove existing default filters (All, Author, Assignee) and create custom ones.
For example, you’ll be able to view All tasks assigned to Peter with the status ‘In Progress,’ or All tasks in project ‘X’ labeled ‘Design,’ and so on.
Within each filter, you will also be able to adjust the sorting. Currently, sorting is preset and hardcoded, but with this update, you’ll be able to sort dynamically—by due date, executor, or deadline—all in real time.
➡ At the start of next year, we’ll shift our focus to developing a full-fledged web application. That’s where we’ll really spread our wings, no longer constrained by a mobile screen. Expect to see boards, advanced task lists and much more.
What do you think?

These plans, in fact, have been significantly shaped by your discussions about new features and existing functional gaps in the chat. Why? Because, first, I have a strong sense of empathy, and second, I’m a perfectionist.

Hi everyone!
We came across an interesting question in the chat:
We decided to clarify this separately, as it can be a bit confusing.
In UTasks, there are two distinct notification settings: one for the “INBOX” project and another for GROUP projects.
It’s important not to mix them up!
🔵 To configure notifications for your “INBOX” project, head to your User Profile ➡ Settings ➡ Inbox Notifications.
🔵 For GROUP PROJECTS, click the gear icon ⚙ next to the project name ➡ Project Settings ➡ Collaborative Event Notifications or Personal Notifications.
And yes, we haven’t forgotten your request for customizable notification timing - it’s on our list!
