⚛️ Quantum Tunnelling: A phenomenon where a particle passes through an energy barrier even when it does not have sufficient energy to cross it according to classical physics 🚧➡️.

This occurs due to the wave nature of particles in quantum mechanics 🌊⚛️.

🔬 Key Insight: Initially, such quantum behaviour was believed to exist only at atomic and sub-atomic scales 🔬.

Later experiments by scientists such as John Clarke, Michel Devoret and John Martinis showed that quantum effects like tunnelling can also occur in larger (macroscopic) systems ✋⚡.
