🖌Recently EAM S Jaishankar met with members of L69 group on the sideline of UN General Assembly.

👉What is L69 group: It is a group of developing countries from Africa, Latin America, Asian countries. It was formed in 2007.

👉Goal : To achieve comprehensive reform of the United Nation security council & ultimately strengthen multilateralism.

👉This year's theme of the meeting was "Reinvigorating multilateralism & Achieving Comprehensive Reforms in UNSC".

🖌It is “an oil or gas project that will result in at least a billion tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime.”

👉Whenever coal, oil, or gas is extracted it results in pollution and environmental degradation.

👉Further, carbon emissions take place in particularly large amounts when fuel is burned.

🌈What is the plan for ‘defusing’ carbon bombs: The network working towards this goal is called Leave It In the Ground Initiative (LINGO).
