Topic: 41: External Benchmarks Lending Rate(EBLR)

To ensure complete transparency & standardization, RBI mandated the banks to adopt a uniform external benchmark within loan category, effective 1st Oct, 2019.

Unlike MCLR which was internal system for each bank, RBI has offered banks the options to choose from 4 external benchmarking mechanisms:
> The RBI repo rate.
> The 91-day or 182-day T-bill yield.
> Any other benchmark market interest rate as developed by the Financial Benchmarks India Pvt. Ltd.

💣Learning: So as soon as RBI 🔺or 🔻Repo rate it will be immediately reflected in the lending rate of banks.

👉 Greater one-horned rhino is listed under the Schedule I of the WPA, 1972.

👉 Habitat of Greater One-Horned Rhino: The species is restricted to small habitats in Indo-Nepal terai & northern West Bengal & Assam.

In India, rhinos are mainly found in Kaziranga NP, Pobitora WLS, Orang NP, Manas NP in Assam, Jaldapara NP & Gorumara NP in WB & Dudhwa TR in UP.

It aims to set up green shipping corridors, which are zero-emission maritime routes between 2 (or more) ports.
Launched at COP26 by UK.

👉 The signatory countries will support the establishment of at least 6 green shipping corridors by 2050.🧨

👉 Signatory countries: Around 19 countries have signed the declaration.

A process by which a privately held company, or a company owned by the government such as LIC, raises funds by offering shares to the public or to new investors.
Following IPO, the company is listed on stock exchange.

👉 Before coming up with an IPO, the company has to file its offer document with SEBI called as Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), a legal preliminary document.

👉 SEBI criteria for bringing IPO: A company must have net tangible assets of at least ₹3 cr & net worth of ₹1 cr in each of the preceding 3 full years, & it must have a minimum average pre-tax profit of ₹15 cr in at least 3 of the immediately preceding 5 years.
