Important Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, the Student Council will be creating a fresh, new, and improved Student Union group on Telegram. The purpose of this new group is to keep it more organized and user-friendly by introducing a wide variety of features that aren't being utilized in the current group.

Additionally, students will not be add to the group via links, as it will minimize the likelihood of outsiders, non-UCC students, and UCC faculty members joining this platform.

Instead, a verification system is in place to ensure that this new group is ONLY for UCC students. You'll only be added directly by the council after you fill out this verification form to prove you're an UCC student (https://forms.gle/dcguACUByhPxGxkEA). This form was created by the Student Council, and no UCC faculty has management access to it. Once you've been verified, you'll be immediately added to the new group.

Another big change to note within the new group is that a relatively new feature called "topics" will be implemented. You can learn more about topics 👉🏻here👈🏻. We'll be testing this new setup by having a pilot phase for topics within the month of September to analyze its efficiency. Within the final week of September, a poll will be circulated to gather your feedback as a student on your experience using this topic feature. This will provide the Student Council with valuable insight that will aid in the decision of whether the current layout should be continued or discontinued.

Also keep in mind that important or pinned messages will be forwarded to the new group as well.

As for the old group, it will likely remain closed. This group will not be deleted, but students will not be able to send messages within this forum (admins are an exception). Therefore, all the resources in the chat history are still available to you as we navigate this transition process.

The student migration process will commence on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11 p.m.
