🇨🇳🔥📹 — On last January 7, 2023, on Chinese speaking clusters of western social medias, it was reported that major clashes between retrenched workers and Mainland China Riot Police broke out inside the facilities of at Zhongyuan Huiji Pharmaceutical Factory in Dadukou, Chongqing province

Per videos shared on social medias, it can be seen people throwing traffic cones, boxes and stools at police carrying riot shields, while another videos showed dozens of protesters chanting “return our money”.

According to local netizens, the protest erupted in Chongqing on Saturday after workers were laid off without notice at a plant in Dadukou district operated by Covid test kit manufacturer Zybio

Riot police were later sent in to control the crowd and recruitment agencies called to handle the riots, with some increasing their payment to the workers, the worker wrote.

As expected, the hashtag “Chongqing Dadukou Pharmaceutical Factory” was censored on Chinese social media platforms such as Weibo on Sunday night.
