His lawyers "vehemently" denied any breach of the restrictions and requested that Moraes clarify the "exact terms of the prohibition on the use of social media" to avoid "any misunderstanding."

➡️ Justice Moraes imposed several restrictions on the former president, including the use of an ankle monitor and a ban on using social media. He later expanded the order to include transmissions, retransmissions, and the publication of audio, video, or transcripts of interviews on any third-party platforms. In practice, the order prohibits the former president from granting interviews, which has sparked various debates about censorship against individuals and the press in general.

"The Appellant (Bolsonaro) did not post, did not access his social media accounts, nor did he ask others to do so on his behalf.

However, it must be stressed that he never considered himself prohibited from granting interviews, which can be shared on social media and, as far as is known, the Honorable First Panel does not appear to have endorsed such a prohibition.

After all, if the prohibition involves the transmission or transcription of interviews, the Appellant is, in practice, banned from granting them—since no one has control over how they are disseminated, except, initially and solely, the journalist themselves."
