#History On August 15, 1971, 🇺🇸US President #Nixon "temporarily" (nothing is more permanent than a temporary government measure) suspended the gold convertibility of the US #dollar to #gold.

Since then, the world has not been the same.

The engine rooms of central banks and commercial banks have been running at full steam ever since. For instance, the US money supply #M2 has increased by over 32 times since the "temporary" suspension. Yes, you read that right, 32 times!

37 years after that, in October 2008, in the middle of the global financial crisis, the world changed forever again.

An anonymous figure, #Satoshi #Nakamoto, released the #Bitcoin #Whitepaper into the world, proposing a solution that is going to rip monetary control out of the hands of governments.

It opened up the window for a temporary convertibility of Fiat currencies into Bitcoin. This time, however, it is going to be truly temporary.

With all Fiat currencies trending towards their true value, zero, that convertibility window is closing quickly.

Converting Fiat into Bitcoin is only going to become increasingly difficult over time.
