🇧🇷💬🤡💥🇺🇸— The government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is considering limiting the remittance of dividends by American companies operating in Brazil as a form of retaliation.

➡️ Lula’s interlocutors stated, under condition of anonymity, that there would be a gradation in terms of how much of the dividends would have to remain in Brazil. It would be a measure similar to the progressive model the government is trying to implement in the tax sphere.

➡️ However, the “scale” has not yet been defined. It remains undecided whether the criterion would be based on the company’s profit in Brazil or solely on the amount allocated to dividends.
