On March 10, a solo miner struck gold, solving a Bitcoin block with a $299 device and just 0.48 TH/s of hash power, earning 3.15 BTC (~$260K).

The odds of this happening? 1 in 1.6 billion. Or roughly once every 31,240 years if mining nonstop. Solo mining isn’t dead, but without serious hash power, it’s a lottery.
