Around this time 2 years ago (edited!) bitcoin was trading at about $16k. Did you make it?
I'm a relative newbie; school of late 2021 and got in just before that year's ATH. I bought all the way down the slope for the next two years and even aquired some filthy shitcoins along the way.
It was pretty tough to keep finding the conviction to DCA more cash when every month bitcoin would drop again. I'd go in my garage, pump iron and listen to some more Saylor on my headphones (and usually end up smash-buying some more!)
I read 'The Bitcoin Standard' again, I understood it better.
I converted my shitcoins to bitcoin fairly early on and I'm so glad I took a bit of a hit on them back then.
I read Vijay Boyapati's 'The Bullish Case for Bitcoin' again I understood it better.
I read Yan Pritzker's 'Inventing Bitcoin', I understood it better.
I read Gigi's '21 Lessons', I understood it better.
I read a load of older stuff including 'The Fourth Turning', 'The Creature from Jekyll Island', 'The Soverign Individual' and 'Atlas Shrugged'.
Yeah, I went full regard and clearly there's a lot of bias here in my choices but something in each of these books was resonating with me and solidifying my view on how money works. The more I read the more I felt I was definitely on the right road. This knowledge has become my own personal proof-of-work. The bear market, far from being bad gave me time to learn from some really great authors.
If you're a long term HODLer, dude, I take my hat off to you. It's a lonely time and not easy. But those dark days in the garage lifting weights and being down 70% punched me in the face and taught me the true meaning of what a long time preference really is.
Next challenge: HODLing through the bull market. Good luck.

Por volta dessa época, 2 anos atrás (editado!), o bitcoin estava sendo negociado a cerca de US$ 16 mil. Você conseguiu?
Sou relativamente novato; escola do final de 2021 e entrei logo antes do ATH daquele ano. Comprei tudo o que pude para os próximos dois anos e até adquiri algumas shitcoins sujas ao longo do caminho.
Era bem difícil continuar encontrando a convicção de DCA mais dinheiro quando todo mês o bitcoin caía de novo. Eu ia para minha garagem, levantava peso e ouvia mais Saylor nos meus fones de ouvido (e geralmente acabava comprando mais um pouco!)
Li 'The Bitcoin Standard' novamente e entendi melhor.
Converti minhas shitcoins para bitcoin bem cedo e estou muito feliz por ter sofrido um pouco com elas naquela época.
Li novamente o livro ' The Bullish Case for Bitcoin ', de Vijay Boyapati, e entendi melhor.
Li 'Inventando o Bitcoin', de Yan Pritzker, e entendi melhor.
Li o livro '21 Lições ' da Gigi e entendi melhor.
Li um monte de coisas antigas, incluindo 'A Quarta Virada', 'A Criatura da Ilha Jekyll', 'O Indivíduo Soberano' e 'A Revolta de Atlas'.
Sim, eu fui com total consideração e claramente há muito preconceito aqui nas minhas escolhas, mas algo em cada um desses livros estava ressoando comigo e solidificando minha visão sobre como o dinheiro funciona. Quanto mais eu lia, mais eu sentia que estava definitivamente no caminho certo. Esse conhecimento se tornou minha própria prova de trabalho pessoal. O mercado de baixa, longe de ser ruim, me deu tempo para aprender com alguns autores realmente excelentes.
Se você é um HODLer de longo prazo, cara, tiro meu chapéu para você. É um momento solitário e nada fácil. Mas aqueles dias sombrios na garagem levantando pesos e perdendo 70% me deram um soco na cara e me ensinaram o verdadeiro significado do que realmente é uma preferência de longo prazo.
Próximo desafio: HODLing através do mercado de alta. Boa sorte. #TB
