China has a massive reserve of rare earths:

China’s estimated rare earth reserves have reached 44 million metric tons.

This is TWICE as much as the 2nd-largest reserve held by Brazil, at 21 million tons.

The US ranks 7th with 1.9 million tons of rare earth reserves.

This means China's reserves are now 23 TIMES larger than the US.

Rare earths are more important than ever.
