🇺🇸🇺🇸💥🇧🇷👨‍⚖⚖️ — The American David Gamble, responsible for the international sanctions office under Donald Trump's administration, is arriving in Brazil to address possible sanctions against Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes

➡️ Justice Moraes has triggered a diplomatic crisis by suspending the accounts of opposition members and critics of the STF on U.S.-based digital platforms such as 𝕏 and Rumble. For Trump's team, this move reinforces the image of Moraes as a leader determined to enforce his own agenda, disregarding its impact on democracy and freedom.

😎 Gamble’s visit was arranged through efforts by Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), who took leave from his position in the Chamber of Deputies to remain in the United States while defending himself against alleged judicial persecution. While in Brasília, David Gamble will meet with Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and is also expected to meet with former President Jair Bolsonaro.

🇧🇷 The Trump administration is considering sanctions not only against Moraes but also other Brazilian officials, including Moraes’s auxiliary judges and the Prosecutor General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet. In addition to sanctions, public security issues will also be discussed.

🇺🇸🇺🇸💥🇧🇷👨‍⚖⚖️ — The American David Gamble, responsible for the international sanctions office under Donald Trump's administration, is arriving in Brazil to address possible sanctions against Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes ➡️ Justice…
🇧🇷🇧🇷⚖️💥😎 Coordinated persecution: At the request of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), the Office of the Prosecutor General (PGR) sent a request to the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, to open an investigation against suspended congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) over his efforts to coordinate with the U.S. government against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, due to alleged abuses in judicial rulings.

📝 In the request, the PGR stated that Eduardo’s actions have intensified as the case progresses in which his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), is accused of an alleged "coup attempt." The PGR also emphasized that Eduardo's efforts aim to target members of the PGR and the Federal Police (PF), and that his statements took on a new dimension after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted at the possibility of sanctioning Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

💬 “The measures referred to in Mr. Eduardo Bolsonaro’s statements, in his own words, include revocation of U.S. entry visas, freezing of assets and funds in that country, and banning of any commercial relations with U.S. citizens or businesses operating in the United States,” reads a portion of the document.

The request to open the investigation was triggered by a formal complaint submitted last week by congressman Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ). The request was fast-tracked, ahead of over 450 others, due to direct pressure from the presidential office.

🇧🇷🇧🇷⚖️❗️🖥 — The Office of the Attorney General (AGU) is urging the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to immediately take action against social media platforms in Brazil, alleging that they are failing to prevent the dissemination of illegal content on their digital platforms.

The request aligns with recent statements by First Lady Janja Lula da Silva advocating for regulation and imprisonment of individuals who make statements on social media that oppose the will of the Brazilian State, drawing comparisons to how China addresses such issues.

📝 This move by the government is part of an ongoing STF case reviewing the constitutionality of Article 19 of the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Law 12.965). This law guarantees freedom of expression and prohibits censorship, stipulating that social media platforms can only be held liable if they fail to remove content after receiving a specific court order.

However, the AGU’s position advocates that platforms that promote, moderate, or recommend illegal content should be held liable regardless of prior judicial notification.

⚠️ The AGU submitted its request through an emergency injunction (tutela de urgência), a legal measure designed to secure or anticipate rights in situations where there is a risk of irreparable harm or harm that would be difficult to reverse. It allows for a provisional decision ahead of the case’s final ruling.
