On October 7, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in São Paulo hosted a reception to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The event brought together guests from political, business, and academic circles, as well as the Taiwanese community in Brazil and members of the consular corps, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration.

The ceremony began with the screening of the commemorative video "A Nation's Album," which depicts Taiwan's journey of democratic development. In her speech, Director General Angeles Chu extended special congratulations to Brazil on the holding of the first round of presidential elections on October 4, highlighting the importance of democracy in the country.

Angeles Chu noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Taiwan's first direct presidential election. Taiwan and Brazil share universal values ​​such as democracy and freedom, and their supply chains are highly complementary. Taiwan also excels in international rankings regarding democratic resilience, high technology, and economic performance, demonstrating the importance of democracy as a foundation for preserving peace and promoting prosperity.

The event also featured exhibition areas dedicated to Taiwanese technology and culture, offering guests a closer look at Taiwan's innovation and cultural diversity.
