Researchers built Light Society, a system where AI agents have personalities, memories, beliefs and human-like behavior.

Instead of using one giant model for everyone, it combines powerful LLMs with smaller models to make the simulation efficient enough to run over 1 billion agents.

They gave the agents real-world demographic data, then simulated things like trust, opinions and information spreading.
