TETHER BRINGS USDT BACK TO BITCOIN WITH RGB ROLLOUT
Tether is preparing to launch USDT natively on Bitcoin via the RGB protocol, marking the stablecoin’s return to the network where it first debuted in 2014 through Omni.
UTEXO is leading the commercial rollout, with the launch expected as early as July. The integration will allow users to send and receive USDT using native Bitcoin addresses and over the Lightning Network through compatible wallets.

AFRICA’S BITCOIN ECOSYSTEM GROWS TO 189 PROJECTS ACROSS 23 COUNTRIES
Map by @afribitcoiners shows Africa’s Bitcoin-only ecosystem has expanded to 189 verified projects spanning 23 countries.
Africa added 22 new projects (+13.2%) over the past six months, including 13 new additions since Q2 2026.
The continent’s largest community-maintained directory continues to track Bitcoin-only initiatives as adoption accelerates across Africa.

KRAKEN TO RECEIVE $22M OVER ‘OPERATION CHOKEPOINT 2.0’
Kraken says it will receive a $22 million award through the Delaware Court of Chancery as compensation for financial harm caused by what it describes as Operation Chokepoint 2.0.
Chokepoint 2.0 was the alleged coordinated effort to cut crypto firms off from banking, auditors, and other essential financial services under the Biden administration.
