The European Central Bank has raised interest rates by 25 basis points, its first hike since September 2023.
The ECB lifted its main refinancing rate to 2.40% and its deposit facility rate to 2.25%, citing inflation pressures following an Iran conflict-driven energy shock that pushed eurozone inflation to 3.2%.
The surprise move comes as the eurozone economy shows signs of weakness, with GDP contracting 0.2% in Q1.

NEW: Hedgeye Asset Management has filed with the SEC for a Hedged Bitcoin ETF.
The proposed fund would combine Bitcoin exposure with options-based strategies designed to reduce downside volatility and potentially generate yield.
Unlike spot Bitcoin ETFs, which fully track BTC’s price moves, a hedged structure could cushion drawdowns by using options overlays. The tradeoff is that investors may sacrifice some upside during strong bull markets.

Nakamoto ($NAKA) sold approximately 600 BTC and Bitcoin-related derivatives, generating $48M in net proceeds to pay down $45M of debt.
