RT by @steipete: If you really think about it, despite being mocked as “ClosedAI,” OpenAI has contributed enormously to the field: GPT, GPT-2, GPT-3, CLIP, the ChatGPT paper, the GPT-4 Technical Report, the Sora technical blog, and even open-sourced Codex.
Anthropic, meanwhile, has contributed far less to the public research ecosystem while increasingly promoting fear-based narratives and restricting access through heavy gatekeeping.

RT by @steipete: Recently, we purchased one of each Anthropic/OpenAI subscription plan and randomly ran long horizon coding tasks until we exhausted the weekly limit. It's widely believed that a $200/month plan maxes out at ~$2000/month worth of tokens (assuming API pricing). However, we found that the subscriptions are actually far more generous. (2/4)

RT by @steipete: By the way, public service announcement: if you're one of the numerous people posting about Anthropic's dystopian ways and you're thinking about getting Claude to help you write that post... don't!
Another one of their terms is that you may not use Claude to do anything that "exposes [Anthropic to] reputational harms" 👇
And, if you do, under the - extremely unusual - clause 13 of their terms (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/consumer-terms), you have PRE-AGREED, by using Ant...

RT by @steipete: This shows yet again how this limitation was never about "safety" but about Anthropic doing stuff just because they thought they can.
I am increasingly sceptical Anthropic really cares about safety, and not just their business interests (limiting competition where they can)

Here's a simple loop: Tell codex to maintain your repos, wake up every 5 minutes and direct work to threads. That makes it easy to parallelize+steer work as needed.
I use a orchestrator skill combined with my triage+autoreview+computer use skills, so some work can land autonomously. https://github.com/steipete/agent-scripts/blob/main/skills/maintainer-orchestrator/SKILL.md

Soa familiar?
