O gráfico mostra a taxa real de política monetária (Fed Funds ajustado pelo Core PCE) comparada com a taxa neutra da economia, o chamado R*.
Hoje a política ainda está ligeiramente acima dessa taxa neutra, o que caracteriza um regime monetário restritivo.
Historicamente, períodos prolongados com juros reais acima do neutro raramente duram muito tempo. Com o tempo, o Fed tende a mover a política de volta para território neutro.
O que o mercado está precificando hoje não é um grande ciclo de estímulo imediato.
É algo mais gradual.
A maioria das projeções aponta para a taxa Fed Funds terminando 2026 próxima de 3%, contra cerca de 3,5–3,75% atualmente.
Isso significaria uma transição de política restritiva para neutra, não necessariamente para um regime altamente acomodativo.
Esse detalhe importa.
Cortes que levam a política de restritiva → neutra já representam uma melhora relevante nas condições financeiras e de liquidez global.
E historicamente, mudanças nessa direção costumam ser um dos primeiros catalisadores para ativos de risco.
