🇸🇻🎄 — The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, became a trending topic on social media again after sharing a video about how Christmas is being experienced in his country this year.

➡️ The president highlighted that, for the first time in decades, Salvadorans are enjoying the holidays in peace, without the fear that gangs imposed for years.

“El Salvador was always an underdeveloped country, but the worst place—the most dangerous, abandoned, and battered—was the Historic Center of San Salvador.

It was an area destroyed by earthquakes, a civil war, decades of disorder, and more than 30 years of gangs. It was called the ‘Historic Center’ because the true center of the city shifted elsewhere, and that place was left abandoned to its fate.

Recovering it is much more expensive and difficult than simply developing a new area, but achieving it is a clear and undeniable sign of El Salvador’s rebirth.”
