Steps are being taken to start accepting cards of the Indian RuPay payment system in Russia.
Negotiations are underway to expand the use of national currencies in bilateral trade.
The two countries are working on the interaction of the National Payment Corporation of India (UPI) and the Bank of Russia's Fast Payment System (FPS)
The creation of a new reserve currency within the framework of BRICS is being discussed.
These issues were discussed, among other things, during the visit to Moscow of Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on August 17 and 18, the newspaper notes.
Doval met with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister Manturov and other officials of the Russian government.
