What I like about Fate is that it doesn't just use lesser known characters, it makes them pretty powerful. Lobo, literally just a wolf granted magic powers through sheer anger, is an actual challenge for King Arthur's Alter, Jeanne d'Arc's Alter, and James Moriarty combined.
