The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) conducted an operation yesterday December 20, 2022 in Gambel village, Amaya district, West Shawa Zone.

The operation lasted the whole day. OLA forces ambushed the fascist regime’s security forces that came to Gambel to conduct a search and kill operation. The unit was completely destroyed. 111 were killed, 123 wounded and 25 captured. In addition, 145 AKM rifles, 2 DShK HMG, 2 Sniper rifles, 4 Bren LMG were captured. Along the weapons, 5426 AKM, 2355 Bren, 3 boxes of DShK ammunition, 50 hand grenades and varius equipments were captured. OLA forces pursued the enemy forces through 3 small villages and forced them to retreat to the district capital.

The commander of the operation reported that members of the enemy unit that was defeated fled in several directions. The surrounding community rounded them up and directed them to destinations of their choice. The commander also added that his forces have continued their mission of heading toward Finfinne while punishing regime elements for the genocidal war they have unleashed on our people. He has also urged the Oromo communities along the road to Finfinne to act in unity and help WBO in its mission to uproot the PP structure of oppression and liberate the Oromo people.
